Crock Pot Chicken & Dumplings




A delightful fluffy dough over a classic creamy chicken soup


  • 2 stalks celery; diced

  • 1 onion; diced

  • 4 Tbsp butter

  • 1 cup baby carrots

  • 4 cups diced chicken breast

  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup

  • 1 tsp fresh thyme

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese

  • For the Dumplings
  • 2 cups Bisquick

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 tsp fresh thyme

  • 1 cup milk


  • To the slow cooker, add the butter first then the onion, celery, carrots, and chicken. Pour in the cream of chicken soup and fresh thyme along with water.
  • Cook on high for 3 1/2 hours
  • Once the cooking time is up, mix all the ingredients for the dumplings in a large bowl. Make into balls and put on top of soup. Sprinkle on another 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and a bit more thyme. Cover and finish cooking another 30 minutes on high.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
