Instant Pot Baked Ziti

Instant Pot Baked Ziti

Difficulty: Easy

Total time

A super easy shortcut to an Italian classic!

  • 16 oz box any short pasta

  • 1/2 yellow onion; diced

  • 3 cloves garlic; minced

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 24oz jar of your favorite marinara sauce

  • 3 cups chicken or beef broth

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese; shredded

  • 16oz ricotta cheese

  • Salt & Pepper to taste

  • 2 Tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

  • Turn Instant Pot to “saute” mode and drizzle in olive oil. Heat until glistening, then add the onion with a pinch of salt and saute for about 5 minutes or until translucent
  • Add the ground beef, crumble and cook through. Stir in the garlic and saute until fragrant; about 30 seconds
  • Add the box of pasta (uncooked), the jar of marinara, chicken or beef broth, and heavy cream. Do NOT stir!
  • Put the lid on the instant pot and pressure cook for 5 minutes
  • Quick release the pressure and then stir in 1 cup mozzarella and 1 cup ricotta. (Yes, you can stir it up now!)
  • Once cheese is combined into the pasta and sauce, top with remaining ricotta and mozzarella then just put the Instant Pot lid on for about 10 minutes until the cheeses are melted
  • Garnish with the chopped parsley, serve, and enjoy!
